Pledges Affordability, Infrastructure Investment, Flood Protection, and Public Safety for the 15th District
(Yonkers, NY) – Anthony Nicodemo, a longtime educator, union leader, and community advocate, announced his candidacy for the Westchester County Legislature representing the 15th District, which includes Bronxville, Eastchester, and Yonkers.
Nicodemo is running on a platform focused on affordability, infrastructure investment, flood mitigation, and public safety. If elected, he will fight to:
keep property taxes low for working families and seniors;
push for targeted investments to repair aging roads, bridges, and drainage systems;
aggressively pursue County, State, and Federal funding to address chronic flooding; and
ensure the County fully funds law enforcement to keep Westchester residents safe.
“As a County Legislator, I will focus on results,” said Nicodemo. “That means responsible budgets that prioritize affordability, modernizing our infrastructure, securing outside funding so local taxpayers aren’t left holding the bag, and making sure our first responders have the resources they need.”
Specifically, Nicodemo has committed to:
Advancing fiscally responsible County budgets that control spending, oppose unnecessary tax increases, and prioritize essential services.
Flood mitigation along the Bronx River corridor, where recurring flooding threatens homes, roadways, and parkland in Yonkers, Bronxville, and Eastchester.
Upgrades to stormwater systems and drainage infrastructure in flood-prone residential neighborhoods to reduce property damage and protect local businesses.
Repairs to aging County roads and bridges, including heavily traveled commuter routes that connect neighborhoods to schools and downtowns.
Fully funding public safety, including police, while supporting training, and community-based strategies that keep neighborhoods safe.
Working collaboratively with local governments to ensure Bronxville, Eastchester, and Yonkers receive their fair share of County resources.
“Everything I’ve done—whether in the classroom, the union hall, or the community—has been about improving people’s lives,” Nicodemo said. “That’s the same approach I’ll bring to the County Legislature.”
Nicodemo has already received endorsements from the local Democratic Parties.
